WE CAN HELP

Patient Resources & FAQs

How do I know which treatment is the right one?

Michigan Advanced Psychiatry’s providers will work with you to fully understand your medical history, what you are currently facing, and come up with a plan to address the conditions. There are several options to help tackle debilitating conditions such as depression, OCD, ADHD, and anxiety. Our team is here to help you overcome these struggles and enjoy a full life.

How long will treatment take?

We can expect approximately 8 weeks for both Spravato and TMS, but sometimes more or less depending on the situation.

For IV Treatment, we generally recommend an initial course of 3-6 infusions over a period of a few weeks with the possibility of additional treatments, depending on the response to the medication.

Do you accept my insurance?

We currently accept all major insurances, including Medicare, and will help walk you through the authorization process to make sure your treatment is covered. We are not accepting patients who are covered by Medicaid at this time.

Can I still do TMS without insurance coverage?

Yes, we do offer TMS for those who choose our self-pay option. Treatments with self-pay will range between $6,000 and $8,500. If you are interested, please call us or fill out the form at the bottom of the page and indicate that you are interested in doing TMS through self-pay. We will give you a call!

Is TMS safe and are there side effects?

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) has minimal to no side effects. In fact, the majority of patients do not experience side effects. If there is a side effect, there may be slight discomfort at the treatment site, which will eventually subside. Many patients choose TMS to avoid the side effects that are associated with medication.

Can I work after TMS treatment?

Most patients are able to carry on with their daily activities after receiving TMS treatment because medications and anesthesia are not used or necessary.

Can I work after Spravato treatment?

Spravato can create some mild side effects such as dizziness, floating sensations, or minor dissociative symptoms. When your treatment is over, you will need a friend or family member to drive you home. We ask that you not drive until you get a good night sleep and suggest not working or making major life decisions following any treatments.

Who do I follow up with after my treatment is complete?

We work in collaboration with psychiatrists and advanced practice providers in the community. You will continue to be under their care and can expect to return to that provider once treatment ends. If you do not have a provider and we are unable to provide ongoing care due to demand, we will work to find you someone.

How much does IV Treatment cost?

IV Treatment costs $495 per treatment. We also offer KAP, which is an infusion paired with onsite psychotherapy, which is $625 per treatment.

We will generally recommend an initial course of 3-6 infusions with the possibility of additional treatments depending on your response to the medication.
